Born and raised in a small town (Seymour, Texas), graduated High school, Swore I would never move back. So I went to a technical college in Amarillo Texas to study Drafting and Design. I received a job offer from a major oil company right out of college so I decided I would move to West Texas and get rich. I worked for them about 14 years and worked contract for several local surveyors through the years in order to gain experience to become a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in 2002. Life happened and here I am now.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Mr. Hostas is a survey manager at West Company of Midland, Inc. and has more than 20 years experience in the land surveying field. He started his surveying career with Exxon Company USA in 1982 and began using GPS in 1987. Throughout his career he has performed boundary surveys, route surveys for utilities, right of way surveys, construction staking and well location surveys. Some of his major projects include:

• Surveyed and prepared 1000’s of residential surveys.
• GPS Aerial Photo control project for the City of Midland
• Surveyed and prepared pipeline right-of-way documents for Peregrine Pipeline Co. in Johnson, Hood and Denton Counties, Texas.
• Supervised the surveying and preparation of pipeline right-of-way plats for Anadarko Petroleum Corporation in Loving, Ector, Winkler, Ward and Reeves Counties, Texas.
• Supervised the surveying and platting of well locations for several major oil companies in the West Texas and Southeast New Mexico Area.
• Supervised the construction staking for all utilities, street and alleys, and property corners for numerous subdivisions in Ector, Midland, Denton, and Collin Counties, Texas
• Worked with a Licensed State Land Surveyor on the boundary reconstruction of Blocks 28 & 29, PSL, Loving County, Texas for Anadarko Petroleum Corporation.
