Wade has more than thirty (30) years of experience in surveying electric lines, pipelines, oil and gas well locations, roadways, acreage tracts and wind farm projects. His area of expertise includes Boundary Surveys, Right-of-Way Surveys and Easements, GPS Surveying and Processing, Locations Surveys and Preparation of Maps and Plats. Mr. Mertz also has extensive experience supervising field crews in the day to day operation of surveying electric lines, pipelines and various other route surveys, both preliminarily and during construction.
He began his career in surveying in 1971 with Rogers Exploration as a rodman during summer breaks while attending college. He joined Luchini Engineering Company in 1978 as a party chief and became a partner in the business in 1983. In 1987 he became owner of the company. He has supervised the surveying of thousands of well locations; supervised the surveying of thousands of miles of pipeline right-of-ways; worked with a state licensed land surveyor on numerous patent, deed of acquitence and vacancy surveys across West Texas; supervised the surveying of a number of ranches across West Texas; supervised GIS mapping projects for numerous petroleum companies and testified as an expert witness in boundary dispute cases; some of his lifetime projects include:
